Special Events & Announcements

Saturday Fast HikesFor the past few years, the club has scheduled Saturday Fast Hikes only in the summer months of June to August.

In this past meeting, we decided to extend the Saturday Fast Hikes to a year-round basis. Saturday hikes will be treated in the same manner as Thursday hikes: a hike leader is appointed, and the actual hike details are sent the weekend before in the weekly Fast Hike email.

More “exploratory or scouting” hikes are to be encouraged. These hikes may include some difficult trails or some bushwhacking as we try to find some new hiking locations.

Slow Hikes on Campouts

Both the April and May campouts had both Fast and Slow hikes scheduled by the campout leaders. This practice is encouraged, and we hope that more Slow Hikers will attend the campouts. They are great fun!

Mingus Mountain Campground, FR104, Sat, June 19. Hike at 8:30 from the campground, food at 11:30. Greta: 445-8871.
